Nissan Mexicana bets on electric mobility
MEXICO — Nissan wants to boost the sale of its electric Leaf model during this year, by betting on more accessible loans due to the drop in the interest rate in the country.
Rodrigo Centeno, senior marketing director of the firm in Mexico, stressed that reducing rates from 8.25 to 7% in the last seven months can help offer more reasonable financing.
“It is a car with an entry price of US$42,023 so the equation that is relevant in here, is how to reduce its cost and make it more accessible for families, “said the manager.
On the other hand, Centeno stressed that currently one of the company’s most important achievements has been the development of infrastructure for charging electric cars, as they 700 chargers were placed mainly in Nissan agencies throughout the country,.
