Nissan will invest US$ 150 million to assemble new crossover in Mexico

Japanese carmaker Nissan will invest nearly US$ 150 million to retool its Aguascalientes plant in order to build the new Kicks crossover, the company revealed in a press release.

Nissan didn't give any details regarding on when the new model production will start. The A1 plant produces four models so far, such as Sentra, Note, March and Versa.

The crossover concept was revealed for the first time at Sao Paulo Auto Show in 2014. The new model production started on second semester of 2016 at the brand's facility in Rio de Janeiro, following an aggressive distribution plan all over Brazil.

Nissan plans now to release the crossover in Mexico and the rest of Latin America, a plan to distribute it in plus 80 countries all around the world will follow.
