++daimler++ Daimler will invest US$37 million in their expansion

Saltillo, Coahuila.- Daimler Trucks Derramadero will invest US$37 million in the construction of a new plant where Sterling cabins will be manufactured; it will have a painting area which will be ready next December; while the cabins area will be ready in November 2011. Also, Cascadia trucks – up to now manufactured in Saltillo Plant for export market only – will be sold in the Mexican market as of this week.

Mark Hernandez, CEO of Daimler Trucks plant in Derramadero, informed that an expansion will start soon, where US$37 million will be invested in the cabins area. He also informed that on August first a second shift started operating in Daimler Trucks Derramadero plant, which meant hiring 450 people and are currently producing 80 trucks per day; however, plans are to reach 105 units daily within two months.
