Drywall manufacturer Panel Rey opens US$ 52 million plant in Ciudad Juarez

Panel Rey, a drywall manufacturer based in Nuevo Leon, started operations of its fifth production site in Mexico. The new facility, located in Ciudad Juarez, has a yearly production capacity of 19 million panels.

Nicolas Alverde, general director at Panel Rey, said the company invested US$ 52 million in this site, which he claimed to be the largest of its kind in Latin America. The production from this facility will be distributed in northeast Mexico and southern U.S.

The new plant will create 170 direct jobs and 350 indirect jobs. Also, the company has its own quarry nearby. Panel Rey has been in operation since 1986, other production facilities are located in El Carmen, Nuevo Leon, San Luis Potosi; Mexico City and Mexicali, Baja California.
