Juan Carlos Cordoba Estrada, Planning Manager of the Integral Port Administration (API) of Manzanillo, talked about the growth plans for the Port of Manzanillo. The expansion project has been promoted in the Ministry of Communications and Transports (SCT) since 2013, in an effort to have new areas of development in the Laguna de Cuyutlan region. Mr. Cordoba Estrada also said that they are working to maintain the number one commercial port position nationally, especially by collaborating with agile and expedite services in foreign commerce tasks. Some of the tools they are using were showcased during a reunion with the Mexican Council of Foreign Commerce (COMCE). For example, the paperless port, the special window for quality brands, which guarantees that a container shipment is able to leave Manzanillo within the following 24 to 36 hours.
