Promoting Mexican avocado in Shanghai

ProMexico and Dole China Corporation carried out an event at the Mexican Consulate in Shanghai, with the objective of promoting the Mexican avocado in China; it had the participation of importers, distributors, fresh produce buyers and opinion leaders. Chantal Abrajan Peña, first ProMexico Secretary in Shanghai, underscored that Mexico is the greatest producer and exporter of avocado worldwide, besides reasserting the importance of the Chinese market for the Mexican avocado. Participants in this event were able to learn how to prepare dishes and drinks with Mexican avocado, and became familiar with its properties, as this is an excellent product for health, due to its high nutritional content. Chinese entrepreneurs displayed particular interest in building the necessary channels to promote even further the avocado culture in the Chinese market.
