Querétaro is the state with the highest growth in electric and hybrid vehicle sales

MEXICO - From January to July, 1,661 electric and hybrid vehicles were sold, representing an increase of 139% compared to the 695 units sold during that period in 2023, according to the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi).

With this variation, Querétaro became the entity with the highest annual growth in the sale of this type of vehicles, and was one of the seven entities that presented a three-digit annual increase.

Hybrid cars are the ones that have been sold the most in the local market, representing 73% (1,212) of sales, of which 1,054 units are hybrids and 158 are plug-in hybrids.

Electric vehicles represent 27% of sales, equivalent to 449 units sold in the first seven months of the year.

Among the two varieties of vehicles, hybrids registered the most significant annual growth in the reference period, by presenting a 297.3% increase, between 113 units sold in January-July 2023 and 449 units in January-July 2024.

Next, the sale of hybrid vehicles increased 108.2%, from 582 to 1,212 units sold in the same period.

Based on accumulated sales from January to July of this year, Querétaro ranked as the eighth largest market for hybrid and electric vehicles.
