Querétaro positions itself as an industrial investment epicenter

QUERETARO - Querétaro is an epicenter for investment in the aerospace, automotive and manufacturing industries in general in the country, said Marco Antonio del Prete Tercero, the state's Secretary of Sustainable Development.

In an interview with A21, after the inauguration of the Aerospace Meetings Queretaro 2024, the official said that last year alone, the state concluded with 52 investment projects, from all industrial sectors, which represent US$1.3 billion.

He explained that this type of events (Aerospace and Automotive Meetings Queretaro) are a showcase for the state, since coming to know and see that there are large aerospace companies installed, such as Bombardier, Safran, Airbus, Airnova, among others, motivates them to want to become supply companies.

He made it clear that with the nearshoring issue, the state is positioning itself as an important recipient of investment in aerospace.

"Just last week we were talking with a German aerospace company, and yesterday with a Canadian company, who have clients that are major players in the sector," he said.

During his opening remarks, Del Prete Tercero commented that the aerospace, automotive and transportation manufacturing industries represent 30% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the manufacturing sector in Mexico.

He mentioned that the aerospace industry has been evolving, and after the pandemic, it has had a great recovery.
