Queretaro's Aeronautic University (UNAQ) is going to provide training to technical staff from Safran's sixth plant in Queretaro, as the company will focus part of its production to manufacturing the new generation LEAP engine, starting next year. Jorge Gutierrez de Velasco, University Rector, declared that this is an important opportunity for the University, as this will enable its incursion into advance manufacturing processes. "They are going to produce blades for the new generation LEAP engines, manufactured jointly with General Electric; this is a lighter, cleaner, engine that we are going to gear up next generation aircraft with, from 2020 onwards."
