Queretaro Students to Begin Training in USA
18 Mexican students will travel to the United States as part of a training initiative in the aerospace industry and Big Data. Through the Space Academy program, 10 students will visit NASA, and eight more will study Big Data at the University of Texas.
The Space Academy is sponsored by the U.S. Embassy in Mexico, in collaboration with the Televisa Foundation and the state’s Ministry of Education. This initiative aims to engage students in aerospace activities and promote education in STEM fields. Meanwhile, the Contigo Beca Embajadores Bicentenario 2026 program supports academic mobility for students at the state’s polytechnic and technological universities through a scholarship program with a cumulative investment of US$1.28 million, benefiting 1,100 students.
State Secretary of Education Martha Elena Soto Obregón discussed the collaboration with the United States to promotetalent development, as well as Querétaro’s position as one of the leading aerospace ecosystems in Latin America.
Meanwhile, the U.S. Ambassador to Mexico, Roland Johnson, stated that these educational programs reflect the collaboration between the two nations.
During the student flag-raising ceremony at the Aeronautical University of Querétaro (UNAQ), Governor Mauricio Kuri González spoke about the relationship between the two countries as allies and trading partners.
“There is no relationship more important to Querétaro and to the country than the Mexico-U.S. relationship; that is why the ambassador’s visit here to Querétaro is of the utmost importance, as is the joint effort we are making to send talented young people outside our state,” he stated.
