The Netherlands is attracted by Queretaro’s agro-industry

COLON — The development of agribusiness and the growth potential in this productive branch is one of the crucial elements that attracts investors from the Netherlands, seeing qualities in Querétaro to generate investment projects.

The coordinator of the Netherlands Business Support Office in Queretaro (NBSO), of the embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, René Spaan, explained that there is an important presence of agribusiness investment in the Colon municipality, as well as in San José Iturbide, Guanajuato; both locations are places where Dutch investment has been installed in this sector.

Among the Dutch investment projects with plans to settle in the region, is the installation of a production plant of the Van der Knaap Group, of the agri-food sector, in Pedro Escobedo; US$7 million will be invested and it is estimated that 185 new jobs will be generated.

The investment announcement was made in June 2019, forecasting to start operations at the beginning of this year; the plant will produce coconut substrates.
