Remittances reach US$7,699 million in 2019’s first quarter

MEXICO During the first quarter of 2019, remittances from Mexicans abroad amounted to US$7,699.06 million dollars, which represented a 7.13% advance compared to the same period of 2018.

The Bank of Mexico (Banxico) indicated that 24.4 million transactions were made during said period, while the average remittance was US$316, higher than the US$308 registered in the same period of the previous year.

While in March of this year, remittances from Mexicans abroad totaled US$2,896.77 million, which represents an advance compared to the US$2.387 million registered the previous month.

In the reference month, slightly more than 9,022,000 million operations were carried out, while the average remittance was US$321, higher than the US$312 dollars registered in February of this year.
