Henniges Automotive, a Michigan-based manufacturer of sealing and anti-vibration solutions for the auto industry, plans to build a new manufacturing plant in the municipality of Gomez Palacio, Durango, local media reported.

The announcement comes after state officials conducted a work tour to finalize the details. There is talk of an investment of close to US$ 60 million that will be used for the project.

With the opening of the new plant 600 jobs will be created, which will be added to the workforce of 1,500 people that the company already has in that locality.

According to the statement, it will be Henniges’ third production site in Durango and fourth overall in Mexico. The company also operates a plant in the neighboring city of Torreon, Coahuila.

Henniges Automotive manufactures and supplies automakers with sealing systems for doors, windows, trunks, lift gates, sunroofs, and hoods. It offers vehicle products that include door seals, hood seals, rear compartment seals, auxiliary seals, glassruns, inner belts, outer belts, upper reveals and appliques, glass encapsulation (side glass), and obstacle detection systems.

The company also provides anti-vibration products that include suspension strut mounting, spring pads, stabilizers, control arm bearings, bushings, and damping bushings. It also supplies the automotive market with anti-vibration products, encapsulated glass, and other rubber components.
