French auto parts manufacturer Sarrel broke ground in recent days for the construction of a manufacturing plant, with a US$ 30 million investment in its first phase and the creation of 290 direct jobs by 2022.
The plant will be located in Apaseo el Grande, Guanajuato, with the objective of serving the North American automotive market, explained Bruno Bardon, General Director of the Sarrelmex industrial plant. The project includes a second phase in which an additional US$ 20 million will be invested.
Sarrel is a Tier 2 provider dedicated to auto parts production using plastic injection and chrome plating processes.
Sources at the breaking ground ceremony claimed the company will supply components for the Toyota plant currently under construction nearby, but company officials refused to confirm.
Some of its customers around the globe are Audi, BMW, Daimler-Chrysler, Ford, Nissan, Peugeot and Renault.
