Siemens Energy switches to Omterra: A brand of its own

Following the split of Siemens AG in 2020—and the company’s subsequent success—Siemens Energy is now preparing to launch an independent brand.

The current entities Siemens Energy and Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy will unite under a single name and brand identity: Omterra. The rebranding process is scheduled to begin in 2026 and will be implemented gradually.

“Since our split, it was clear that we would be able to use the Siemens Energy brand license for a limited period. Today, our company enjoys a strong strategic, operational, and financial position. We have earned the trust of our customers and investors, improved our profitability, and have an ambitious growth plan for the coming years. In this context, and given that the current brand agreement is of limited duration, now is the right time to begin the transition to our own independent brand,” said Christian Bruch, CEO of Siemens Energy.

“We are proud of what our employees have built over the past few years. Our founder’s name opened doors for us and helped us on our path to independence. That legacy inspires us and reinforces our commitment to developing the energy system of the future,” he added.

With Omterra, Siemens Energy is making a deliberate commitment to an independent brand with global appeal. The new name reflects the company’s international presence, its technological expertise, and its commitment to contributing to a stable energy supply worldwide.

There will be no changes to the company’s strategy for customers, partners, and employees. The brand transition will take place gradually.
