Siemens to eliminate or subcontract 2,700 positions

Siemens AG is going to eliminate or subcontract 2,700 positions as part of a campaign to modernize the technology department and become more efficient, announced the German industrial corporation. The company, based in Munich, informed that almost 1,700 jobs will be eliminated in Germany in the upcoming years, while other 1,000 positions will be subcontracted from other firms. During this same period, the company will add 9,000 positions in Germany and  Siemens pointed out that efforts will be made to provide training to those affected by the downsize so they may occupy new jobs.
