In order to meet the demands of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), the SME Industrial Park is now being built in a location between the municipalities of Huimilpan and El Marques. The general manager of the SME Industrial Park, David Mercado Gonzalez, explained that this complex is planned to house 500 national and foreign capital firms, in its almost 200 hectares of industrial land. Furthermore, this industrial park is estimated to employ approximately 12,500 workers upon reaching its peak operation, with a potential average of 25 employees per company. In this second phase, nearly 120 hectares are being developed in El Marques, with a US$ 48 million investment.
