Sonora is one of Mexico’s states with the highest aerospace industry development. It has one of the leading aerospace manufacturing clusters, nationwide, in which more than 60 companies already belong. This has been able to generate more than 10,000 specialized jobs, according to Jorge Vidal Ahumada, Sonora's Secretary of Economy.

The other Mexican states that lead the sector are Chihuahua with 42 companies integrated to its cluster, Queretaro with 30 and Nuevo Leon with 28, according to official figures.

Vidal Ahumada highlights that the production in Sonora is of 12 aircrafts per month, which is the equivalent of 96 doors, emphasizing that "the intention is to bump production up to 14 aircrafts by the end of 2018, this means 112 doors per month and 1,500 aircraft pieces.”
