Southwest Airlines got Trump involved in the landing and take-off schedule (slots) reassignment affair, which Aeromexico and Delta are about to drop. A report to the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) informed that the scheduled slots these Companies are soon to leave, must be assigned to the three U.S. air carriers that requested them first. These are slots that the DOT requested to retrieve from Aeromexico and Delta in order to approve the Cooperation Joint Agreement. These are 14 slots in the Mexico City International Airport, which must be retrieved by this summer and 10 more the next year. Southwest, Alaska and JetBlue requested 10, and VivaAerobus and Volaris, requested the other eight.
