Stepan Company buys plant in Ecatepec

US-based Stepan Company has acquired a plant in en Ecatepec, Estado de Mexico, from the German corporation BASF, with the objective of expanding its operations in the Mexican market. Quinn Stepan, President and CEO of the Company,  said during a reunion with analysts that this factory primarily produces surfactants, a chemical compound used to produce soaps and detergents. Stepan stated that the Company has a production capacity surpassing 50,000 metric tons of surfactants, with 124,000 square feet of storage space, a large laboratory and an office area.
