Strattec Security Corp. broke ground on a new painting and assembly facility in Leon, Guanajuato, as part of a joint venture with Michigan-based ADAC Automotive, said in official statement Frank Krejci, president and CEO.
"With new automotive assembly plants being built in (Mexico), and additional passenger car production migrating to Mexico from the U.S. and Canada, we see significant growth opportunities for our partnership," he said. "Production at our new facility is expected to begin in mid-calendar year 2017".
The Milwaukee-based security products manufacturer, which draws most of its business from the automotive industry, reported an increase in net sales, which was in part impacted by the fourth quarter being a 14-week period while fiscal 2015's fourth quarter was a 13-week period, increasing sales by approximately $7.5 million.
