Taiwanese companies invited to invest in Juarez
TAIWAN - As part of her working tour in Taiwan, the Governor of Chihuahua, María Eugenia Campos Galván, held meetings with members of the Semiconductor Industry Association (TSIA), as well as with executives from Foxconn, Pegatron and other companies, where she highlighted the competitive advantages that Ciudad Juárez offers for the supply chain of this industry.
TSIA brings together the 200 most important semiconductor companies in Asia. During the meeting held in a technology park, Campos explained the advantages of investing in Chihuahua.
Many of these technological giants do not yet have a presence in Mexico, which represents a great business opportunity and a great opportunity to attract new investments to Chihuahua, taking advantage of strategic advantages such as competitive incentives and proximity to North American markets, highlighting the T-MEC region.
Campos Galvan also held a meeting with senior executives from United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC), one of the world's leading semiconductor producers, who showed him the company's operating process.
During the meeting, Campos explained all the advantages offered by the state for the electronics industry and invited them to visit the state to learn more about the geostrategic potential offered by the state within the binational semiconductor ecosystem with the United States.
In addition, the governor toured the TSMC Museum of Innovation, the world's number one semiconductor manufacturer, which recently opened a plant in Arizona.
In her meeting with Pegatron executives, the governor exchanged with the CEO's and presidents, Kuo-Yen Teng and Kuang-Chih Cheng, greater infrastructure support to meet the growth and welfare needs of their employees.
In addition, the State Government made a commitment to continue providing security for the transportation of high-value products to the border crossings.
The Governor also held a meeting with executives from Foxconn, a leading global electronics manufacturer and technology solutions provider.
Together with her entourage, the governor toured the plant and learned about future expansion projects in Ciudad Juarez.
Also, as part of the itinerary, the governor attended the 50th anniversary dinner of the Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers Association (TEEMA) as a special guest. TEEMA is made up of 3,000 manufacturers of all types of electronics that could potentially invest in the state.
