Tequila, Mexico’s pride

Records of the tequila industry seem to indicate that the production of this drink will close this 2016 with a 19% increase compared to the previous year, with expectations to close December with over 272 million liters. The peso currency exchange and an increased demand in this drinks’ market have been favorable factors for this industry to maintain double digit growth rates during the last six years. The prospect is to close the year with exports at least 5% up from the 2015 record. At the end of last year, 190 million liters had been exported, 82% to the U.S. The export record was at just 40 million liters per year, 22 years ago.
