The Jalisco National Digital Investment Portal is under development

Jalisco has begun developing the National Digital Investment Portal by standardizing procedures between the federal government and the municipalities of the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area, with the aim of providing greater certainty for investment projects and thereby reducing processing times and the time required to obtain permits.

Cindy Blanco, head of the Jalisco Secretariat of Economic Development (SEDECO), said in an interview with the newspaper “El Economista” that this mechanism has been one of the main topics of discussion at the Assembly of the Mexican Association of Secretaries of Economic Development (ASMDE), in which 22 states participated.

“Here in Jalisco, we are already working to align the state and municipal regulations with those of the federal government; at the very least, we plan to start with the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area and then gradually expand it to the entire state,” he explained

Blanco Ochoa noted that the agency expects to implement the mechanism based on certain criteria related to investment amounts and strategic sectors. The goal is for the agencies involved to be able to determine the feasibility of a project within a period of up to 90 days

“This was one of the main items on the agenda at the (AMSDE) meeting, and the states began raising their hands. Baja California was the first to complete the process; it should also be noted that it has only seven municipalities, which is not the same as Jalisco, which has 125,” the official explained.
