There are good expectations for Nearshoring in Mexico: INDEX

MEXICO - The National Council of the Maquiladora and Manufacturing Export Industry (INDEX) held the first edition of the CEO Summit, with the theme of Nearshoring and the political landscape in Mexico.

During this meeting, the capacity of companies in the Bajío region to supply companies that are considering the relocation of supply chains was highlighted.

Enrique Quezada, president of INDEX Querétaro, said that there are good expectations for Nearshoring in the country. This is due to the arrival of new companies and the consolidation of others in the region.

During the CEO Summit, the increase in hiring and the diversification of suppliers, especially in the industrial parks, were highlighted. The businessmen in attendance described this as an encouraging sign for growth in the sector.

In this forum, businessmen from the Bajío region addressed concerns about the topic of Nearshoring, in addition to the needs of companies in the sector in terms of regulation, standards and operations.

The president of the National Council of INDEX, Humberto Martínez, highlighted the collaboration between the associations of Querétaro, Guanajuato and San Luis Potosí, which has made it possible to contribute to the regional and national economy. He also indicated that the export manufacturing industry is part of the economic well-being.
