Tijuana exceeds employment expectations

TIJUANA – The survey of jobs and salaries conducted by the Association of Human Resources of the Industry of Tijuana (Arhitac) through its statistics committee, exceeded expectations for the second quarter of the year, as it predicted the creation of almost 24,000 vacancies in Tijuana.

This was announced by Heriberto Galindo Aguirre, president of Arhitac, who said that the survey corresponds to the months of June, July, August and September, in which 125 of the most significant companies in Tijuana, Rosarito, Tecate and Ensenada participated, representing 150,000 jobs.

The projections increased significantly, he said, where 7 of 10 vacancies are for replacement and 3 for growth, being the Industrial City of Otay, followed by the Pacific Industrial Park, Insurgentes, Florido and Playas de Rosarito, the main areas where this demand is concentrated.

"Recruitment is very strong, we see a lot of movement especially in the medical devices, electronics, metalworking, logistics and aerospace sectors, where 141,000 are employed in payroll, and 9,440 are in outsourcing mode," said Galindo Aguirre.
