The one hour extension in the operation hours of the customs' offices at the Tijuana border zone, which benefits some companies, has allowed for an increase of up to US$8 million in merchandise exchange, increasing regional commerce and reducing waiting times for customs processes. Luis Manuel Hernandez, President of the Export Industry Association in Tijuana (INDEX), explained that the one-hour extension of the customs office services, has generated indirectly 22,000 new jobs from February 2016 to February 2017, due to growth in aerospace, medical supplies and electronic products companies.
