Tacna Corporation, dedicated to promoting investment in Baja California, estimates that, between the installation of new plants and the expansion of factories already operating, roughly 15 companies will invest in Tijuana this year.  The estimated US$100 million investment shall result in the creation of at least 1,000 jobs distributed among the 15 projects which are planned to start before the year ends, in Tijuana alone. Another one of the reasons that has made Tijuana an investment destination, is the peso-dollar exchange rate, with foreign companies have larger amounts to invest as the Mexican currency depreciates compared to the US currency.
