Toyota assessing to produce Tacoma pick up and other SUVs at the Guanajuato plant

Toyota Motor Corp is assessing the possibility to produce a model of Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) in the plant which is currently under construction in Guanajuato, in addition to the pick up model Tacoma, said last Friday a spokesperson for the Firm in Mexico. Toyota announced the purchase of 5% of its competitor, the Japanese Mazda Motor Corporation, as part of an alliance to carry out a plan to build an assembly plant valued at US$ 1,600 million in the US, to develop technology for electric vehicles together.
