Toyota sets eyes on Guanajuato to assemble one of its SUVs

Toyota has announced the purchase of 5% of its Japanese rival, Mazda Motor Corporation, as part of an alliance with a plan to build an assembly plant worth US$ 1.6 billion in the US, while developing technology for electric vehicles together. Toyota had planned initially to assembly the Corolla compact cars in the new complex, which is under construction with a US$ 1 billion investment in Mexico, but this production will be relocated to the US, and the Mexican plant will produce the Tacoma instead.
