Trump Era: Severe turbulence

Frederick Garcia, Airbus Group Mexico’s General Director, compared the Trump era with “a turbulence”, which is expected to pass promptly. With the new bilateral aviation agreement, the relation has grown much closer, although the involvement of external entities, such as the Federal Commission of Economic Competency, in the air transport sector, is deciding who gets to keep the JFK slots that belonged to Aeromexico. The danger here is that the U.S. DOT is actively deciding which company may travel from JFK to AICM. In other words: they get to pick who flies to Mexico.
