U.S., number one FDI in Queretaro

FDI proceeding from the U.S. is of primary importance for the States in the Bajio regions, as it represents the main amount in Queretaro, the second in Guanajuato, San Luis Potosi and Aguascalientes. According to the Ministry of Economy, the U.S. FDI in Queretaro reached US$320.4 million by the end of the third trimester this year, which stands for 40% of the total records during the first nine months in 2016. Meanwhile, Guanajuato's was valued in US$310 million, 31% from the total; San Luis Potosi got US$105.6 million, equivalent to 25%; and Aguascalientes got US$42.2 million, 14% of the total record. The inflow of investment from the U.S. in the region is surpassed only by the Japanese FDI in Guanajuato and Aguascalientes, and the German FDI in San Luis Potosi, due to the projects generated for the automotive industry at these States in recent years.
