UPCH to open new artificial intelligence and drone management laboratory

CHIHUAHUA - The Polytechnic University of Chihuahua (UPCH) will have a laboratory for the handling of Drones, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things and Augmented Reality thanks to resources obtained from the State Fund for Science, Technology and Innovation (FECTI) through the Institute of Innovation and Competitiveness with a sum amounting to US$129.541.

Eduardo Barbosa Saenz, in charge of the Rector's Office at UPCH, said that this resource and equipment will improve training for teachers on the subject of Industry 4.0.

He explained that this project seeks to create an innovative and motivating educational environment for the careers of Aeronautical Engineering and Industrial Engineering, so he said he was very excited about this great achievement for the university community of UPCH.

He detailed that in the project the need for the acquisition and installation of equipment with RECF Drones and CoDrones Edition, for the teaching of the principles of programming and robotics, was raised.

In addition to Artificial Intelligence workstations to facilitate the teaching of programming, electronics, robotics and Augmented Reality lenses, to provide immersive experiences and enrich learning through virtual environments.

Similarly, it is essential to develop training for teachers in the management of the equipment, effective integration of technology into the curriculum and implementation of innovative teaching practices.

These technological equipment will be used to develop educational activities and projects that will allow students to apply STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) concepts in a practical and creative way.

"The project seeks to create a stimulating and dynamic learning environment that encourages exploration, experimentation and discovery in the STEM field," said Barbosa Saenz.
