Van der Knaap Group to invest US$ 7 million in Queretaro

AMSTERDAM –  Van der Knaap Group, the Dutch firm of the agri-food sector, announced the installation of a production plant in the municipality of Pedro Escobedo, a project in which it will invest US$7 million, with the expectation of generating 185 new jobs.

The announcement was made official within the framework of the tour carried out by state authorities in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

The company, dedicated to the production of coconut substrates for the agri-food industry, will start operations in July, the governor of Querétaro, Francisco Domínguez Servién, said.

In the first stage, the firm will process 30 million coconut tows, to be placed in the national market. It is expected that it will process up to 100 million tows in the medium term, to export to its main customers in the United States and Canada.

Mexico is currently the seventh coconut producer worldwide and it is expected that this Van Der Knaap project in Querétaro will position our country as the third largest producer in the world
