Last November, production volume at Volkswagen Puebla assembly plant decreased 15% to 34,718 vehicles as the facility lowered output of the Jetta’s outgoing version and started test runs for the model's next generation.
Despite the setback, VW’s production in Puebla saw a 13% increase from January through November for a total 440,172 vehicles, of which 85,901 units were Tiguan SUVs and 203,507 units were Jetta sedans, the automaker reported.
In the same facility Volkswagen also manufactures the Beetle and Golf vehicles, except for the electric and “R” versions.
During the last 11 months, Volkswagen exported 358,221 vehicles built from Mexico, that figure represented a 16.5% hike versus the same period of 2016. In November alone, exports increased 14.7% to 34,181 units.
