Volkswagen Puebla lays off more than 150 workers

PUEBLA - Volkswagen de México took the decision to terminate the contract for the operation of its spare parts warehouse with Volkswagen Group Services México SA de CV (VWGSM) and concluded the labor relationship with a total of 156 workers.

The decision was made after an analysis of costs and the services offered by suppliers specialized in logistics services.

The new supplier company that will be in charge of the spare parts warehouse located inside the Volkswagen automotive plant, next to the Mexico-Puebla highway, will begin operations in March 2025 and offered the workers who terminated their employment relationship the possibility of hiring them under their own conditions.

“After an analysis of costs and the offer of services from suppliers specialized in logistics services, Volkswagen de México made the decision to terminate the contract for the operation of its spare parts warehouse with Volkswagen Group Services México S.A. de C.V" said the company.

The company also announced the end of its labor relationship with the 156 people who worked at this warehouse. In addition, the new supplier offered those interested to join its workforce under its own hiring conditions.

In its position, Volkswagen de México expressed its commitment to legality in its relationship with business partners.
