The wholesale grocery trade achieved a 6.2% growth in terms of value and 1.5% regarding volume during 2018, despite the fact that this year was complicated by the thefts and traffic that the sector faced, said Iñaki Landáburu Llaguno, executive president of Asociación Nacional de Abarroteros Mayoristas (ANAM).

There was growth in all areas of the country and in all the products marketed by ANAM associates. Landáburu Llaguno explained that the three companies with the highest sales in the national wholesale channel were Nestlé, which concentrated 8.4% of the total, Kimberly with 7.8% and Gamesa with 4.9%, which implies an increase with respect to 2017 of 10.8%, 0.3% and 5.5% respectively.

He exemplified that the 5 brands that sold the most wholesale grocers were Electrolit (34.6%), Facial Quality (19.6%), Nutrioli (15.8%), La Lechera (15.5%) and Dog Chow (13%).
