Yadea invests US$80 million in the State of Mexico

In the first quarter of the year, the State of Mexico received an important investment in the electromobility sector.
The company Yadea, a world leader in the manufacture of electric motorcycles, has chosen the municipality of Ocoyoacac to install its new plant, with an estimated investment of almost US$80 million and the creation of 200 direct jobs.
This was informed by Jaime Gutiérrez Casas, general director of Coordination of Economic Development and Competitiveness of the Secretariat of Economic Development (Sedeco), during the analysis round table 'Nearshoring: Opportunity for the insurance sector in the State of Mexico'.
Gutiérrez Casas pointed out that the Chinese company is seeking to consolidate its presence in Latin America and has chosen the State of Mexico as its center of operations in Mexico. Initially, the projected investment was US$40 million, but after several negotiations, the amount could reach US$78.6 million in the next five years.
The new headquarters in Ocoyoacac will also generate indirect jobs, strengthening the local economy and the electromobility ecosystem in the region.
The executive emphasized that the State of Mexico continues to attract investment thanks to its strategic location and technological development. He also mentioned that sectors such as automotive, pharmaceuticals, plastics, artificial intelligence, data and semiconductors, as well as the aerospace industry, present great opportunities for growth in the state.
With a population of 27.7 million inhabitants and 8.1 million employed people, the State of Mexico is the largest consumer market in the country. In 2024, the state went from sixth to second place in attracting foreign investment, which reinforces its global competitiveness.
Likewise, the State of Mexico is positioned as a key logistics hub, as it is part of the economic corridor of the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA). With a division into seven economic regions, the state government seeks to guarantee security and certainty for investors, fundamental factors for the arrival of new companies.
