In order to serve the Europe and US markets before the end of the year, Yucatan is going to create an agro industry cluster with export quality products, to be developed in the municipality of Tizimin and extending toward other parts of the Eastern region of the State. This year, this sector's exports have records of 2,300 containers of produce exported to the US, while last year's record was close to 2,000 tons. The specialty agro industry sector is expected to grow from 7,500 hectares, to 25,000 hectares during its first four years, especially for the grain and seeds production.
