Zacatecas Leads the Nation in Silver, Lead, and Zinc Production

Zacatecas ranked first nationally in the production of silver, lead, and zinc in July 2026, according to the Statistics on the Mining and Metallurgical Industry (EIMM) from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi), the state government reported.

The state recorded production of 146,222 metric tons of silver and 12,466 metric tons of lead. As for zinc, this brought the state's total to 25,004 metric tons.

The Secretary of Economy, Jorge Miranda Castro, emphasized that the results highlight the state's mining potential and the coordinated efforts between the state government, the private sector, and workers in the sector.

“Zacatecas is synonymous with mining. These indicators confirm the strength of our state and our commitment to continue promoting responsible, competitive, and job-creating mining development that contributes to economic growth and the well-being of Zacatecan families,” the official said.
