General Motors announced the Bolt electric vehicle arrival at Mexican dealerships starting July 5. In the early stage of distribution, the unit will be available for test drive only at seven dealerships located in Mexico City, Monterrey, Guadalajara and Puebla.
Base price in Mexico for the Bolt will be 696,100 pesos, around US$ 39,000 at current exchange rate.
The Chevrolet Bolt will be the fifth full-electric unit available in the Mexican market along with the Nissan Leaf, the Renault Twizy and Tesla’s models S and X.
The 238-mile range unit features a motor capable of producing up to 266 lb.-ft. (360 Nm) of torque and 200 hp (150 kW) of motoring power. Combined with a 7.05:1 final drive ratio, it helps propel the Bolt EV from 0-60 mph in less than seven seconds.
