Japan-based Hirotec Corporation broke ground in the Municipality of Villa de Reyes, San Luis Potosi, to build a plant which will provide components and services for BMW.
The company will invest more than US$ 47.6 million to supply stamping products for the German automaker.
This will be Hirotec's third facility in the country since it already operates manufacturing sites in Silao, in the central State of Guanajuato, and Ramos Arizpe, in the northern State of Coahuila.
Both facilities supply stamping and assembly of closures as well as exhaust parts for General Motors, Mazda, Daimler, Nissan Motor Co. and Fiat Chrysler.
