Tamaulipas industrial activity reported annual growth of 2.6%
TAMAULIPAS - The industry established in the state of Tamaulipas registered an annual growth of 2.6% in the month of April, according to INEGI's Monthly Industrial Activity Indicator (IMAIEF).
With these results, the state's economic dynamism maintains a positive trend according to this indicator, whose purpose is to follow up the evolution of the secondary sector activities in the states.
The State Secretary of Economy, Ninfa Cantú Deándar pointed out that the growth in activities reflects the confidence generated by the teamwork between the various productive sectors and the INDEX Maquiladora Associations of Reynosa, Nuevo Laredo and Matamoros with the state administration.
"The established industry today is growing, and more companies are coming to the state because after many years, there is an environment conducive to investment and business development generated by the governor's economic policy," commented Cantú.
As an example, he highlighted the recent announcements of the expansion of NIDEC and Erika companies in Reynosa with an investment valued at 33 million dollars and more than 1,500 jobs.
Information from INEGI's Monthly Industrial Activity Indicator (IMAIEF) for the month of April indicates that in mining, the annual growth of this sector in Tamaulipas was 11.6%; in generation, transmission, distribution and commercialization of electric energy, water supply and natural gas through pipelines to the final consumer, the state grew 3.5%; in construction, the expansion was 6.7% and in the manufacturing industry, the state had an expansion of 4.9%.
