Admiral Juan José Padilla Olmos is the new General Director of the AICM

The Secretary of the Navy (Semar) appointed Admiral Juan José Padilla Olmos as General Director of the Mexico City International Airport (AICM), effective March of this year.
Padilla Olmos replaces Rear Admiral José Ramón Rivera Parga at the head of the airport, in charge since March 2024 and who will continue to be part of his team.
He explained that this change was carried out as part of the merger process of AICM, Servicios Aeroportuarios de la Ciudad de México (SACM) and Grupo Aeroportuario de la Ciudad de México (GACM).
“Under the leadership of Admiral Padilla Olmos, who will serve as general director of the three entities and will only receive economic remuneration for the three assigned positions, the aim is to eliminate duplicities in the corporate structure of these airport entities to optimize operations and resources, improve the profitability of the companies, safety and air connectivity of the country for the benefit of the users,” according to the Semar.
Once the merger process is completed, AICM will act as concessionaire and operator of Mexico City's “Benito Juarez” International Airport, and from now on as holder of the assignments of the international airports of Ciudad del Carmen, Ciudad Obregon, Guaymas, Loreto, Matamoros and the national airport of Colima.
It will also exercise its equity interest in the Toluca and Cuernavaca international airports. In addition, it will manage and collaborate with the international airport of San Felipe and the national airport of Lázaro Cárdenas, respectively. In the same vein, it will gradually incorporate other airports in Mexico.
