Volex breaks ground for its new plant in San Luis Potosí

In a symbolic event marking the start of a promising new chapter for the local industry, Volex held the groundbreaking ceremony for its new manufacturing plant in San Luis Potosí. The ceremony took place on Monday morning along Boulevard Manuel Gómez Morín, in the Milpillas neighborhood, next to the Golden Friction company.

The event was attended by municipal authorities, members of civil organizations, special guests, distinguished employees, and executives from the company’s leadership team. Notable attendees included Master Enrique Francisco Galindo Ceballos, Mayor of San Luis Potosí; Engineer Elia Korina Toro Reyna, Director of Economic Development for the Municipality; Lic. Emilio de Jesús Ramírez Guerrero, General Secretary of F.T.E. – C.T.M.; and Mrs. Imelda Elizalde Martínez, President of Canacintra.

During his remarks, Raúl Villarreal, Vice President and General Manager of Volex, emphasized the importance of the project for both the company and the broader region:

“It’s an honor to be here today for such a meaningful occasion—not only for Volex San Luis Potosí, but for our community and the future of industry in this region. Today, we’re not just breaking ground on a new facility—we’re laying the foundation for a deeper commitment to growth, innovation, and most importantly, to people.”

The new plant represents a significant investment in the economic and social development of the state. According to Villarreal, the facility will generate over 2,000 new jobs, greatly strengthening the local labor market and creating new opportunities for families throughout San Luis Potosí.

With this initiative, Volex reinforces its long-term vision and further solidifies San Luis Potosí’s role as a strategic hub within its global operations network.
