Bajío Cluster strengthens collaboration and supply networks

The last edition of the Mexico Aerospace Fair (FAMEX) 2025 allowed members of the Bajío Aerospace Cluster to strengthen their capabilities, develop new projects, and boost their visibility in the industry, said Óscar Rodríguez, president of the organization.
In an interview with A21, the businessman said that the issue of the supply chain is becoming increasingly important.
“I believe that Mexico will be one of the big winners, due to all these global movements,” he said.
Rodríguez stressed that the key is to build ecosystems within the supply chain in order to generate collaborative networks. In this sense, the “Made in Mexico” program serves this purpose, as it seeks to strengthen companies, foster mutual knowledge, and promote purchasing among national companies.
He clarified that due to the country's location, as well as the capabilities of its people and the strength of its small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), it is possible to encourage more SMEs to move into the aerospace sector.
The president of the organization mentioned that the Ministry of Economy (SE) has a clear vision of the direction of the industry, and its head, Marcelo Ebrard, is clear that space represents a strategic field for the country, especially considering that Mexico ranks tenth in the world in the supply of aerospace components.
Rodríguez commented that, for this year, the Bajío Aerospace Cluster plans to have a presence at more trade fairs, including Le Bourget in France, together with other clusters at the national level, as well as holding its own summit at the end of the year.
“We need to start strengthening that muscle, which we already have well structured, but we need to make it bigger, with new companies that are seeing us as increasingly stable, with a vision of growth for the future,” he said.
The president of the Bajío Aerospace Cluster commented that Mexico will fare well in terms of tariffs, but for businesspeople, the measure generates global economic uncertainty and anticipates a possible recession scenario.
