Advanced Composites expands its plant in Aguascalientes

The Japanese company Advanced Composites, a subsidiary of the Mitsui Chemicals group, inaugurated its new storage center in the San Francisco de los Romo Industrial Park in Aguascalientes, as part of an ambitious expansion project involving an investment of US$10.5 million.
The project includes the construction of four new industrial buildings and the addition of a specialized machine that will increase the plant's production capacity to 9,000 tons per year of plastic compounds for the automotive industry, strengthening its position as a key supplier of high-performance TPO and polypropylene materials.
During the inauguration ceremony, the governor of Aguascalientes, Tere Jiménez, highlighted the confidence that Japanese companies continue to place in the state.
“This expansion will serve as a national distribution center and reaffirms that Aguascalientes is an international development hub,” she said on her social media accounts.
For his part, Esau Garza de Vega, the state's Secretary of Economic Development, Science, and Technology, underscored the strategic impact of the project on his social media accounts.
“This expansion reflects the confidence that the Japanese automotive sector continues to place in Aguascalientes. Advanced Composites has more than 30 years of history in our state and today reinforces its commitment to the region's global competitiveness,” said Garza de Vega.
The company currently supplies major automakers such as Nissan, Honda, GM, Toyota, Volkswagen, and Ford, and with this expansion, it seeks to optimize its logistics operations and respond more quickly to its customers' needs.
In addition to strengthening its production capacity, the new logistics center will generate direct jobs, strengthen the state's industrial ecosystem, and promote the use of sustainable technologies in its processes.
Both the state government and the company's executives recognized the leadership of Yoshio Sugimoto, president of Advanced Composites Mexico, for consolidating the company's presence in a region that offers ideal conditions for growth and innovation in advanced manufacturing.
