Alejandro Hernández Appointed Head of AEDE Liaison Office in Juarez

The State Energy Development Agency (AEDE) has appointed Alejandro Hernández Estrella as head of its liaison office in Ciudad Juarez, with the aim of strengthening connections with key sectors and promoting the use of clean energy in the region.

Hernández Estrella brings over 18 years of experience in the energy sector. He previously served as General Superintendent for the Ciudad Juárez region at the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) and has led electrical infrastructure and solar energy projects in the private sector.

Operating out of the State Undersecretariat of Innovation and Economic Development offices, located in the José María Morelos y Pavón Administrative Unit (also known as Pueblito Mexicano), the AEDE liaison office is tasked with monitoring energy transition initiatives and addressing electricity supply needs across industrial, commercial, and residential sectors.

According to Carlos Ernesto Ortiz Villegas, the Governor’s representative in Ciudad Juárez, the establishment of the liaison office responds to the growing need for specialized attention to energy-related demands from local businesses and the general public.

Carlos Hernández, director of the AEDE, stated that the agency’s broader objective is to support the state’s energy development across all segments, including hydrocarbons, electricity, and the generation and supply of energy sources for both productive and social activities.

Services provided by the agency include technical consulting and project follow-up, particularly for companies in the industrial sector, to help ensure compliance with energy regulations. Additionally, AEDE offers training sessions on clean energy technologies and the energy transition, and facilitates strategic partnerships between private sector stakeholders and government agencies.

Other services include conducting energy assessments to identify savings and efficiency opportunities, as well as providing support with permitting processes and regulatory compliance for new energy projects.
