Tamaulipas presents Agromap platform at INEGI national statistical analysis forum

The Tamaulipas Ministry of Rural Development, Fisheries, and Aquaculture participated in the “Strengthening Local Capacities” panel at the INEGI 2025 Federal Entities Forum, where it presented the progress made by Agromap, a state geointelligence platform designed to gather statistical, geospatial, and production information from the rural sector.

During the presentation, the Director of Evaluation and Statistics, Ernesto Guillermo Amaya García, explained that Agromap allows crops to be monitored using satellite images, critical areas to be identified, productive opportunities to be detected, and agricultural support to be targeted with greater precision. According to the agency, the tool seeks to reduce information gaps in municipalities and rural localities and facilitate data-driven operational decisions.

Amaya García highlighted that the collaboration between INEGI and the state government has been key to developing an interoperable platform focused on strengthening local capacities through access to updated and systematized information.

Participation in the forum is part of the state's efforts to incorporate technological innovation and improve planning and monitoring processes in the agricultural sector. According to the Secretariat, the objective is for the information generated to contribute to more efficient decision-making and the development of productive activities for the benefit of rural communities in Tamaulipas.
