Women Strengthen Mexico’s Aerospace Industry

The participation of women in Mexico’s aerospace sector continues to grow, becoming a key factor for the development and innovation of the industry. According to aerospace engineer Christian Sánchez Barboza, greater female representation is helping strengthen the sector’s talent base and opening new opportunities for future generations.
In the context of International Women’s Day, Sánchez Barboza highlighted the importance of recognizing women who are contributing to aerospace engineering, research, and industrial development across the country.
She emphasized that women are increasingly present in areas such as engineering, manufacturing, and technological innovation, helping to drive the expansion of Mexico’s aerospace ecosystem. The sector has grown significantly in recent years thanks to international investment, advanced manufacturing, and the development of specialized clusters.
Sánchez Barboza also stressed that encouraging more women to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) will be crucial to maintaining the industry’s long-term growth and competitiveness.
Experts note that Mexico’s aerospace industry continues to evolve, and increasing diversity in the workforce is becoming an important element in strengthening innovation and ensuring the sector’s future development.
